# Steps to Follow:

- Line a 9x9-inch baking pan with parchment paper and lightly grease the surface.
- Separate the marshmallows and butter into three equal portions, about 3 1/3 cups marshmallows and 1 tablespoon butter for each layer.
- In a large saucepan, melt 1 tablespoon butter over low heat. Add 3 1/3 cups marshmallows and stir until fully melted. Incorporate several drops of red gel food coloring until achieving the desired shade. Mix in 2 cups Rice Krispies cereal until evenly coated, then press the mixture into the prepared pan bottom.
- Clean the saucepan. Melt 1 tablespoon butter over low heat, add 3 1/3 cups marshmallows, and stir until melted. Blend in vanilla extract, then incorporate 2 cups Rice Krispies cereal. Press mixture gently over the red layer.
- Clean the saucepan once more. Melt the remaining 1 tablespoon butter over low heat, stir in the remaining marshmallows until melted, then add several drops of blue gel food coloring. Mix in the remaining 2 cups Rice Krispies cereal, and press gently over the white layer.
- If desired, sprinkle the top with red, white, and blue sprinkles while the top layer is still slightly warm. Allow to cool and set for at least 1 hour. Lift treats from the pan using the parchment paper and slice into squares.
